Not sure of the actual process.
Your current phone cable already using the same grade as data cable ? FYI, you need at least cat 5e or better moving forward for Fibre. |

Fyi.
I tried TPLink AC1750 Archer7v4 and was working fine on ST 500mbps. Now room didnt encounter any weak signal. Test speed with wired, down 634mbps and up 567mbps. But not sure will it works on ST 1Gbps. |
