this post here , I think its a very good idea to use platic trunking.. Firstly, U can get the fan to blow directly downwards onto the water. Secondly, little effort and skill is required to make the holes to secure the fans...

Hmmm, am i out-of-point?

ok, I think his method only suitable for the small 20mm dc fans, coz they are rather light. So trunking still can support the weight of afew of these fans.

Yo Bro,

Instead of using Trunking or Aluminium. Just go DAISO(IMM), everything for $2. Go to the gardening section and get yourself a pair of Iron rod coated with rubber, usually green in colour, for just 2 dollars.

Don't believe, just bring along a magnet to test, confirm Iron. It is super strong. Just used cable tie to secure the fan to the iron rod. As the rod is thinner, less air flow obstruction, more effective.

I used it to support my 120mm AC 230V fan(Metal body), the iron rod span across my tank of 5'. Been using it for 2 years now. Never fail.

Cheers.
