yes, I trained this goldfish myself.

A koi can definitely be trained!

I am also starting a lecture series on animal training where I would explain to everyone how does an animal learn and also later on, how do you train it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJpb6f2MzQ0 You can check out my lectures if you are interested.

Watched your video clip, marvelous ! Can give me some clues on how to train koi jumping through hula hoop above the water surface, just like what the dolphins show usually does ?

Hi ranchugal, absolutely amazing. Thanks for sharing and will check out your training videos.

Didn't know goldfish can be trained like this. How long does it take to train your goldfish to fetch the loop?

Would be really entertaining if my kois can do the same

this is awesome....you must have spent quite some time to condition this fella....wonder how much time you need to spend on average to achieve this?

It's not possible to train a koi to jump out of water because that is not a behavior that it is physically capable of doing. You can however, train it to fetch a hoop or swim through a hoop.

I took about 2 to 3 months to train the behavior.
