Default Nutx Planted Tank

Hi....just converted a 5ft to planted....

started with some simple plants...

Full Tank

Showing all the fish inside...Aro, AA and Discus

Closeup of plants...

currently, my plant are mainly ferns and nanas....
with some tiger lily...and probably echi. rose???

I'm worried that the lights may not be strong enough....for the 5x2x2.5ft tank.

I'm using 2 set of 2xT5 (80W), and 1 set of 3xPL (36W)...

Saw some new LED...are they strong enough? Most LFS said not enough!
Any suggestion on the lights.

tank is not heavily planted and plants selection are all low maintenance type.
In fact, if nana gets overly exposed may get burns. to me it looks just fine.

best option is to monitor the growth of the plants. give yourself 2 months to see any major development and from there you can see if the lighting is sufficient. if not much development than consider an upgrade also will work fine too. no harm by than.

Do you have base fert under your gravel?
The plant you want is a heavy root feeder. Meaning it takes fert from the roots more than from the water column. Get root tabs and insert near the base of the rooted plants and replenish regularly.

Root tabs or fert balls are slow release ferts in tablet/ball/capsule form.
