Adding AC aka anti-chlorine
Hi Senior
My daily wc routine is once per week mostly on Sunday about 30%. My current fish tank is 6x2.5x2.5. Eversince my aro passed away, I abit bo chap. Being a cheapo, I do not add/ buy any ac since Apr. My current fishes are 1 20cm It and 3 king kong parrot. My qn is so far my fishes seem to be ok. So should I add ac in future if I stick to the routine? Sometime the lesser chemical the better dont u think so. Sent from my D6653 using Tapatalk |

i personally feel being a fish keeper it is our responsibility to try our best to provide our fishes with good living enviroment .. it could be due to the smaller % of water that you are changing it does not have a big effect on the fishes but they definitely cant ''tahan'' untreated tap water.... no point doing a water change that may or may not kill them... due to all the chemicals..
i think our AC is to make the chemicals already present in our tap water less harmful or not at all.. not that the AC is an added chemical.. its a chemical to remove the already present harmful stuff in the water |

Yes, a must. Your fish probably survive because you change only 30%. Do note that our water supply do comes with chlorine spike at times.
