A from above pic of the new PBB next to my monster Endli.
Though they are almost the same length (PBB is 51cm, Endli is 54-55cm), they have a HUGE girth and head size difference! |

That said it is fatter than my Laps, but that Endli is one fat *******! If ever there was an aquarium McDonalds, she would be their number 1 customer! |

come to think of it, there was this thing about the different head structure between wild endies and captive endies few years back. have you guys in japan heard about it? how true is that? i have 1 of those so called captive endies. but i believe the other 2 endies i kept since they were only 3-4" are also captive. the head structure is like what was called wild. an old pic my so called captive: Last edited by Schmike; 06-03-2011 at 10:39 PM. |

I heard similar, and there may well be differences, but I think it is down to individual fish.
One of my wild caught head from side and above: I have captive bred that look pretty much identical. There are differences in head shapes for different regions too.... God this hobby gets so frikin complicated at times haha! |

1 of the 2 other big endies that i got:
based on the price i paid (SGD$10+ when it was only 3-4"), i believe it is a captive fish. during that time (~2 years back), there are more captive endies around too. recently all these bichirs differences are making me feel like when i started out on bichirs 5-6 years ago.
