Wow $80?! I'm actually looking for a slim and cheap alternative to cool my tank and not come up with too much of 'artificial' wiring within the tank itself. I prefer a neat and tidy setup. Tried using ice cubes but it didn't do much to lower the general temperature of the water. Probably because my tank is placed at the balcony and sunlight=high temperature??
your tank is small, use fans enough if you hv a budget.
can spend then get a chiller

I just placed a stand fan in the balcony, since I use it as a reading area as well. And what do you know... the temperature of the water dropped by 2-3 degrees from 30 to around 28 degrees C!

But I'll still consider getting a fan. Maybe will drop by Y618 tomorrow to get it. My friend told me he saw 1 selling below $25 (well within my budget).

Thanks for all your help guys!

Chiller is a professional chioce. But the operation cost deters me from getting one.

Find one day I will construct a mini cooling tower or a scale down type as the actual centralised air conditioning system. .I trust this will bring the temp down by 2-3 degree C.

If sucessful, will put up for sales.
