At this size, this fella shd not be spooked so easily.
If u do not hv any other fishes bigger than this fella, then imho, very likely could be ur water issue.

So I think I've sorted out what happened, I was in the process of tanning cycle, so the new lamp has been up for about 2 weeks. On Thursday one of the clips broke on the tanning lamp and I was holding it up at a angle for about 10 mins resetting the clip and the light was flickering, I remember wondering where she went. I think that may have spooked her. I thought of water params as well so I tested and the water was fine...I did a 30% change anyway.

On Sunday, she started coming out, I was intentionally keeping my lights lower through Fri and Sat...she is still swimming in the lower part of the tank but has been gliding on the top a bit more.

If that was the case then I'm through with the tanning, I like her regardless of her color at this point.

Bro, allow the aro regains its confidence before you begin the tanning.

In the meantime, daily wc should ease the situation

Haha, no more tanning! I paid too much and this little girl is my baby. But if I do I will wait another 3 months!

I guess so long as your water parameter is good plus she is eating...then just leave her alone.

Agreed, she's out more these days, mostly when she's hungry.

bingo, the funny thing our aros are doing.

Just like one of mine which is a very picky eater.

Have been comming with a fearless 5" red tiger oscar for more than 3 months.

The aro did something that I couldn't imagine, fighting over the pellets from the small oscar

imho, just wait and see. So long as the water condition is good (based on the tankmates, swimming happily). Your baby will come out to eat.
