$50 for 2kg? 2kg has 88 balls? i think cannot use the water volume to judge. more like the concentration of ammonia and nitrite.

have used for more than 2 years already i think.

tank water does not turn reddish, but inside my canister lots of powder .
also doesn't seem to finish when i rinse there is always dust.

I've had this happen before and i threw away the old bio home, and have not bought new one anymore because of this. really liked bio home plus before it started crumbling.
i feel canister is like a pressure cooker. the medias will degrade faster.

Does the bh breaks wen u press it? I think the red one lasts longer then the white one, used to buy alot last time

Now I use all the non branded medias n my water parameter readings are fine...
Maybe depend on bioload I guess?

later when i water change will try to press. few years old media. if low bio load is ok for media with normal surface area. if not enough space then have to get those with large surface area.
