Default underflow for planted tank

is there a need for underflow in a planted tank? or just a overflow to the sump will do?

Overflow should do. It can get rid of the layer of protein on the surface as well.

Underflow will be a problem especially when you have substrate.

thanks bro for the info. was quite puzzzled with whats the use of underflow, cos IMO the sucking power for underflow not really good also
