But when we put a moss wall into the tank, do we still put background plants?
Yes, you can still plant background plants.

Not too many though, as they will block the moss wall.

For me, i used sucker for every corner and then a wooden chopstick (Those used for makan one) to stuff it to prevent any fish from entering. So far so good.

one more very important point to note..
if u refer to bro Plee's moss wall.. he has done a vry good job but missed out one point which i did too whn i first started with moss wall.. the lower half of the wall.. u may have tied moss there but due to the upper half being neared light they grow faster thn the lower half n shadow the lower half.. so in order to haf a thick n nice complete moss wall.. one must constantly trim the upper half to ensure that the lower half is not blocked off..

other den trimming. i would advice you guys to turn the mesh around every week to ensure both top and bottom layer has sufficient lighting.

yeaps!this is another thing to do to ensure u have a lush green moss wall (= also the trimming must be done regularly to ensure the portion near the mesh gets enuf light to stay alive.ifnot once it dies off.. the moss wall wll peel off..

1. fill a bucket(the bucket must be bigger den the mesh) with water.
2. take out the moss wall.
3. put in inside the bucket.
4. trim and cut to your desire length with a sissor or best with a aquarium bended sissor
5. take out, turn over and "wash" the lose form of the moss away from the mesh
6. place them back into your tank.

the above 6 steps is what i did..
word of advice. try not to use moss like spiky, taiwan and java moss as moss wall. they grow very fast in co2 enriched tank and you have to trim it every month or so..
if can, get moss like xmas moss, mini xmas moss, weeping moss, mini pellia, US fissiden.
my 2cents
