From my experience, it will speed up the cycling if you have matured filter system already in place. Also bacteria products from Seachem, Fritz will also helps to shorten the cycle to 1-2 weeks.

You must have a set of test kits available.
Initially you will have readings for ammonium and nitrite and a bit nitrate.
After cycled, your kit should read 0 ammonium, 0 nitrite and some nitrate.

So does that mean if my ammonium and nitrite readings are 0 then it has finished the cycle process?

hmmmmm when everythings near to 0 it has definitely finished cycling.
actually theres no point in translating tht logo.... its definitely shrimp friendly...

ANY substrate is friendly for shrimps.. as long as it maintains a 6+ to 7 pH and is cycled fully.

Ya i agree with the Ph cos i done testing on my tank. (Very eX testing)
I put ketapang leaves inside my tank then the Ph drop like mad n shrimp kept reporting to heaven.

Intro Coral Chip, Ph increase to 6.6-6.8. (Heard from many ppl that cannot add C.C.) but after one day no more Shrimps reporting to heaven leh. Till now been 3 day's stil ok. Mayb must wait n see.
