U can refer to a very old thread of mine for reference.. FYI, with my setup, my record is no wc for but just top up water for half a year, with no casualty of any fish and normal feeding... |

No problem if without jap map at compartment ya need to be more hardworking/monitor. My mechanical filter at the overflow compartment can compensate that ya. Any other advice? Erm not really ya. Quote:

Bioload was what you see in the photo in my 8ft tank. Each ppl have their own concept of setting up the filtration system, just depend how useful and functional it can be. Unless u can change ur sump tank and redesigned, or else so far ur sump tank has been in it best possible arrangement in its current design...

Will follow up from your thread.. Thanks for the positive comment. I didn't show you my mechanical filtration at my over flow. It consists of one layer of white wool, black sponge and jap mat. White wool will change it every week including the one at sump area. The rest of the space i fill up with bacteria house standing on a vertical position. Most of the dirt will get capture at the over flow compartment. Cheers. |

I think should be because the sump tank glass isn't very thick? Having close to full height compartments can be very straining on the glass if filled to the brim with media

Nicely packed filter media. 1 layer of wool change weekly if the lifestock not alot and feeding is minimum. I need to change my wool 2x weekly during my wc and magic clean 2x daily. Super dirty.

Saw TS's vid in his youtube page and noticed in 1 of the videos his entire sump was flooded.
TS must be using a super high flow rate pump causing the water to be too much for the sump. TS, what flow rate are you using? |

Power filtration bro.
I also hv sump tank from n30 my height is also a bit short to my liking But also maybe due to the amount of pressure of media and water in tank causing the height to not be able to hit so high.. Maybe higher compartments requires thicker glass Last edited by Censis; 09-04-2013 at 09:02 PM. |

Power sump!!! Like the densely packed medias. Be careful of the extra aeration, will create a lot water evaporation making your cabinet moist . Notice your water flow like very fast? How many times turnover rate?
