Co2 tank size not related to Planted tank size.
personally in my rm, im using a 5L CO2 tank for a 1 ft tank. Last me more than a year already ar running at 1bps. for my office its a 10L tank for a 4X2X2 planted tank. difference is that office needs to top up more often. meaning more expenditure. for home usage its cheaper for me to top up once and yet alot of qty rather than topping up many times. |

a manual regulator as the name imply needs you to manually turn on and off the supply of co2. you could leave it on 24/7 or turn on and off everyday.
a solenoid makes use of electricity to on and off the co2 supply. this is normally used to coincide with the time the lights are on. a bubble counter is a little container filled with water (by you) so that you could see the number of bubble(s) coming out of the supply. generally for no brand or made in china items, a 2l co2 cylinder would cost between $55-$65 while a manual regulator would cost between $20-$30 and solenoid $80-$100 |

Just a correction here. Solenoid does not comes with timer. At least so far I've not come across any with build-in timer. Basically the function of the solenoid is to open the valve of the regulator. And the solenoid needs electricity to works. Timer comes into the picture just like one need to have it for setting the lighting period. The same applies to solenoid, to set the period in which CO2 will be infuse into the planted tank.

timer and solenoid is a total different things they dun come with timer. if u buy the timer you can adjust the time for the solenoid to on and off after plugging into it if u do not have a timer it will be more troublesome for u cause u need to on n off yurself |
