Hi guys,

when you place the meter in the sump, it may not really be showing the actual water conditions in the main tank. In my opinion, more accurate to place it in the main tank, just that the only worry is it might get damaged by the fishes. I placed mine in the main tank though.

Oh... thanks for the input, currently I don't have the reading problem.
If needed to change the probe, where can I get it ?

The reading is stable at 6.91, perhaps you need to check your probe, may be dirty, my ph test pen facing the problem before, after some cleaning, it is now stable, that's the reason I decide to get a meter to be sure my tank ph reading.

I think pH probe should be clean/rinse periodically to maintain the functionality.

My pH value is not accurate now bocs I nvr clean it for a long time though it is still working but showing higher value as compare to a test strip I used to double check the accuracy. FYI.

Sorry bro, missed your reply.
Yes, though placing in the sump tank the reading may not be the same as the main tank, but the reading is not far and is acceptable. Also as you mentioned, to protect both fishes and probe.

Thanks for your reply, how long do you think is the best to start cleaning, 3 months, 6 months or every month?

Bro...if your meter can read 2 dec point, it should change or drop as the water age. When you change water, it should increase, as our tap water is about pH 8.

Also temperature do affect the change the pH also.

Thanks bro for your kind advise. Yes, when I change the water, the reading goes up, it stabilized after sometime, however, I will monitor the situation. Ah.. if I'm not mistaken, East side water is not so high, should be around 7.5 or below, if I'm not mistaken, it was posted this result by some bro, when mentioned PUB tab water in the east.

Thanks for the information bro Washywashy. I will prepare and keep a soft toothbrush for cleaning, perhaps my test pen should do the same too.
