TS, does your reading on ur meter fluctuate oftenly?
I'm using the petfran ph meter for few months, my reading will keep jumping from 7.6-7.8.. |

Hi guys,
when you place the meter in the sump, it may not really be showing the actual water conditions in the main tank. In my opinion, more accurate to place it in the main tank, just that the only worry is it might get damaged by the fishes. I placed mine in the main tank though. |

If needed to change the probe, where can I get it ? The reading is stable at 6.91, perhaps you need to check your probe, may be dirty, my ph test pen facing the problem before, after some cleaning, it is now stable, that's the reason I decide to get a meter to be sure my tank ph reading. I think pH probe should be clean/rinse periodically to maintain the functionality.
My pH value is not accurate now bocs I nvr clean it for a long time though it is still working but showing higher value as compare to a test strip I used to double check the accuracy. FYI. |

Yes, though placing in the sump tank the reading may not be the same as the main tank, but the reading is not far and is acceptable. Also as you mentioned, to protect both fishes and probe. Quote:

Thanks for the information bro Washywashy. I will prepare and keep a soft toothbrush for cleaning, perhaps my test pen should do the same too. |
