Default Those with mosquito in sump problem. Look here

Citronella gel. Juz place them in ur cabinet and it will help to prevent Mosquito from breeding in ur sump.

Works for me. Not total elimination but helps to reduce.

I bought them from Home-Fix.

Usually mosquitoes are found in the last compartment of a sump tank right?

Can keep a betta there instead?

there are many ways to resolve an issue. bro Vic is just giving hobbyist another option to choose. not necessarily mean this is the best method.

Got different type of mosquito. The common type which is brown color can breed in moving water too...thats means in all compartment of ur sump.

I think this gel is cheap, safe for our fishes and quite effective.

May i know the flowrate of your sump?
I think mozzie bred in stagnant water ...if there is a possibility to increase the flowrate and eradicate the lull area...the problem may be solved.

they dun. At least this type of brown/greenish mosquito dun need stagnant water

My flow rate is over 10,000 litre/hr. They still lay their larvae in my sump tank.

I am new to sump tank, may I know what is the function of Citronella gel ? Emit smell and chase away the mosq.

My sump tank arrived a week ago, need to have preventive measure..

Keeping beta at last compartment is the best solution? any other fishes can be kept? How about the rest of the compartment?

What if we go for year end holiday which last for 10days...
