Got to be Metal Halide, very powerful source of like, almost near sunlight in every way. I got one installed on my ceiling shining directly down on my man made pond on my floor and guess what can grow lilies some more. Although expensive to maintain, this light really worth every single cent. Gives you the rippling effect when you view your fishes from your tank.

Not to mention that there's no longer a need to remove the light set from the top of the tank when you need to do maintainence. Can also act as a sufficient room light too!
squee's praying for MH lighting in the future... |

Hee hee... A 250W MH would be good. Me aiming for that but no point as my tank's height is only 18". If you have that, you can have a very nice planted tank with that kind of height.
Or else, you can consider 55w PL tubes instead of 36w ones. Don't use 10k or higher k tube as it gives algae problem. |

I am using 2 tubes of PL lights now. think its the small tube. My tank is built in a built in partition. Therefore heat is definately a problem. I am new to this "planted tank world"... any recommandation on plants which i can keep? mayb its algae on my nana... i am able to rub the black/brown stuff off with my fingers ... my tank is only 15" wide... 36" by 15" by 24"... |
