Default Nano Skimmer

Hi anyone noticed a ocean-free nano skimmer that was in the 3G display tank at Qian Hu ?

Somehow they are not selling it yet....

Does a 5G need a skimmer if i can do WC once a week or every 10 days ?

If you keep bioload low and avoid overfeeding, you can just get by with regular water changes instead. Not necessary to get a skimmer for such a small tank.

I would be making a WC like once every 10 days. I would prefer not to do WC too often as small tank, a little off would cause large issues.....

I would be preparing like a 1L bottle from home then WC in the office. Using red sea salt + distilled water

Yup. With a small tank, you have to be careful even with the water changes. It can cause unnecessary fluctuations in the water parameters.

If you change once every 10days would be fine. I don't think you would need a skimmer if u keep to this regime, just be careful not to overfeed and keep bioload low.

Any love rock or anomoe or mushrooms to avoid ?

Sorry to tap on this thread? If I intend to do up a 1.5ft tank, will i require a skimmer? Any model prefer?

I will say entry level will be fine but must be able to perform the role.
Thanks.

Anomoe(Anemone you mean?) should be avoided. These critters are very demanding and difficult to keep.

No need to avoid mushrooms, they are in general hardy and easy to keep. There's also no need to avoid love rock(Live rock you mean?).

darrentyl: Its not a must to have a skimmer for such a small tank IMO.

Just to check, small tank like 2x1x1 can get by without a skimmer?
