I think it depends on how the farm named them. they can put all sorts of names for the red but they are still red aro.

Went to a shop in Tampines yesterday and ask them you only got one red, but the guy told me that is not a red aro but a chili red, I was like ....... It's just names to me and whether what name shouldn't deter you from getting the fish as mainly it's see fish dun see cert.

How would you feel if I sell you a red aro which I tell you is a super fire bloody red indicated in the cert but only to see the fish is pale and no colors, will you buy?

IMO, the different names is only branding by the various farms. essentially they are all red arowanas.

part reason of the different colour tones and shades depend on genes. i do not think there's a foolproof method of selecting ur ideal red if u r getting a juv. even if u get an adult aro, the colour may also washout if you cannot maintain. hence many bros advocate "see fish dun see cert".

for juv, if the lips show hints of red, i think it stands a pretty good chance of very intense colouration when it reaches adulthood. of cos, the other aspects of spoonhead, perfect finnage etc shld be considered as well.

Chilli Red and Blood Red.

Mixed both on top = Super Red.

Orange Red, Golden Red (probably a variant of SR).

Keep it simple.

Others are mere names and branding.
