I'm using a similar sort of tank for my 2ft marine tank, so far no problems but IMO if you can afford it, would be best to custom make the tank as you can get it made from thicker glass.

As for whether our tapwater is good enough, its definitely ok to use Singapore tapwater after treating with anti-chlorine(make sure its those for marine use). I've been using tapwater treated with anti-chlorine since i started this hobby.

However, if your more particular about nutrients(these can fuel nuisance algae growth) entering the tank system, you can use other options like distilled water or even make your own RO/DI water from a RO/DI unit. The cost would be higher if such options are employed.

Hi Lukielala

I am personally using a plan 5, 2feet tank with canister filter for over 3 year. IMO, u just have to be a bit more careful with the Live rock you have in the tank, dun let them topple down in your tank.

The cabinet must be good also, dun overload the tank with too heavy light fitting or hang on filter.

Cool I was so freaking worried that the tank won't make it and was about to sell it. The water too people were all like NO TAP WATER! God scary! Well I'm saving up for a remora skimmer as it seems to perform really well for tanks our size and it looks really sexy. Plus my wave maker and any reccomendations for caninster filters or lfs that's willing to drill holes to make my tank sump operateable

or is there any way like having a external overflow box that can link to a sump? without the need to drill

Hopefully you are able to get this from the seller of the I-box.

The last time I saw the I-box (about 1 month ago) is in AquaMarin at Jalan Kayu and give them a call at 64842006 to check if it is still avaiable.
