MS R&D never test and roll out the update. Those on Win10 pls read and backup your data first.

Thanks for this warning, I resisted until it happened yesterday. So far so good, though...

I thought I'd turned off auto-update, but when I wanted to shut down the laptops, the options given all had "Update and xxx", like "Update and Shut Down". Luckily it only happened when they rectified the issue.

So I guess I'd auto-download somewhere...? Could someone give me the steps on where to check these? I thought I've checked yesterday but looks like something's still missing.

Some articles said the problem fixed.
I also postponed the update. Wait and see any more feedback in the coming weeks first.

Even disable the services also no use. The updates will still come in. I presumed Win10 is auto push regardless the updates is enable or disable. Win7 at least still better where you can disable it and enable when you really need the patch.

OK, so that explains why I'd no other option then but "Update & Sleep", "Update & Shut Down", and "Update & Restart".

Thanks, anyway.

Don do the upgrade from Win7 or Win8. Check your board website if it carry the Win10 drivers. If don hv, 2 options only.

Option 1
Don upgrade or get a new board that support Win10

Option 2
Do a fresh Win10 installation and see if Win10 will update the drivers for you.

Doing a fresh setup is a very tedious task. But once all the drivers are working, the rest very easy liao.
