Bro, how many fishes in your tank? What type of fishes are you keeping? How often you change water?

If you intend to have less rock in you tank then biohome would be another alternative to build up the system. Sand might not be very soft if you keep on dosing calcium because after 1 - 2 year. it will be harden like rock.

2 tangs, 2 pair of clowns, 2 chromis, 1 goby, 1 wrasse
i change 25% of water every 3 months

HELLE is a erosion disease commonly found in tang. Please do a search for it and read more to treat the fish. I will try to provide the link tonight.

No wonder your tank dun have a bio system. If you keep bigger fish. I doubt it might be able to cope.

tired google HELLE but nothing matches

i always thought that LR and sand are sufficient for bio filtration
furthermore over skim 4 times

it will be great if you can provide me with some links

If i'm not wrong, what SunnyDay meant was Horizontal Lateral Line Erosion(HLLE) disease. Its quite common in Tangs if they are not fed proper foods(Eg. lack of seaweed/algae in the diet).

i feed them with ON formula 2 pellets daily
weekend with nori

will try to give them more veggie
