Bro ah, just got the red sea skimmer as well. Wanna check with you, does the skimmate overflow only when the water is dirty? Or it overflows all the time?

The foam should reach the top at all times. and once the foam collect enough dirty skimmate then it will overflow.

For my tank, the cup is filled only once a week. now even slower, cos i reduce feeding.

i think foam is supposed to reach just below the collection cup. it will overflow when enough dirty skimmate has accumulated. That's how I tuned my IQ skimmer anyway.

So after the skimmate overflows, it turns into milky water? mine now like that leh. Last night I turned full flow cause I thought the foam isn't flowing out, this morning end up the whole cup full with water.

I see i see. Thanks for the help guys, will tune it.

I did use the airtube, connect to one of the holes on the cup right? Anyway, my foam still seems pretty clean, is it because my tank is still "new" ? No livestock yet.

Ahhh, no wonder. Got live rocks already, and some corals. Will take some picture and share soon. It's actually my dad's tank but I'm buying all the stuff
