The bacterial population is very hard to control (2x every 20min) and when you get allelopathy happening due to Quorum Sensing, you are in big trouble
Just add in the prawn and be patient.

huh?
lost liao..
wads allelopathy? Quorum Sensing??
appreciate if u explain, havent done anything yet..

for a 4x2x2 using 70kg, i tink i would only need ard 20-25kg, if i dun pack it too tight..
If you intend to use LR as the main biological filter, you should use more. I had them more for aesthetic purposes and the benefits of LRs. My main filtration system is still in the sump.

I didn't calculate the amount of rocks i needed based on tank volume, i bought them based on my needs and how i want to aquascape the setup. So, IMO it's not that accurate to use the amount of LR i bought to gauge how much you would need.

However, its fine to do so if you intend to incorporate another filter to assist the LR and sandbed.

without a fan, is it possible to go into corals?
Generally not possible unless you can maintain the temperature at 26-28 with everything necessary on.

if i place my lights higher or wadever?
Not wise, the higher you put the lights, the less efficient they are.

It's not more of the sensing that does the damage, it's what's going to happen after the sensing that is the problem

You'll probably have bacteria becoming pathogenic or massive dieoff of the colonies. Either way, it's not going to be good.

I believe that there is no short cut to this hobby so everyone has to be patient to succeed. If I did not remember wrongly, I cycled my tank for about half a year or so

Quorum sensing basically refers to the bacteria's ability to "control" it's population by sensing it
If the population goes too high, they will release toxins to kill off the excess and lower their population

unless it's air-conditioned, or else normally your room temperature is about 29-31.

heat generated by light, pumps etc.. need to be taken into account.

So normally, if without a fan, your tank temp can easily reach 30-31. if the weather is hotter, it'll go worse.
