Maintenance wise depends on size of tank. Not appropriate for me to write down here. To me it's just affordable based on a year.

I have always been curious about how this ecosand system works.
It seems like just a very expensive undergravel filter using sand as media. Can anyone tell me how it is different form undergravel filter? I have looked at company site and google search for it but so far the information on how it is different from undergravel filter has been very vague. |

Initially b4 I set my mind to aro keeping, I also did some research on which filtration I intend to use. Sump, canister, overhead these are the few under my consideration. Actually during that time I already set at sump as my final filtration. At that point of time I also stumble on Ecosand system. At first I also dun quite believe the system can last. I went down their shop look see look see and some question and answers. Went back consider again comparing with sump system. Finally take a risk and chose Ecosand though it's a bit pricier. After 1 year never regretted. Fish still survives and healthy. Only setback is that medicines are not allow in this system. So when I wanted to add fish, I have to make sure it's quarantine nicely or I buy from a reputable shop. End of the day, it's still up to hobbyist how they wanted to maintain their fish tank. For me, I just wanted it simple and worry free. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
