Actually 50 is too many for my 2ft tank. I bought 25pcs yesterday at seaview. 25pcs at $25.

How come some of the cardinal tetras look different though they are cardinl? I bought those with red lines surrounding the blue lines.

In Biotope, they have 2 types.Wild Double red and normal wild, but price wise quite high. Heard from the fish shop, all cardinal are wild coz they cannot be bred easily.

it really depends on your tank size , filtration etc.
hard to say unless you could give us more details of your tank.

Yup difficult to have an exact number... many variables. Also dependant on plants, etc. As a guide, I have 6 (0.5 inch) in a one ft tank + 1 galaxy (Leftover) + 3 RCS. Better to err on the safe side... plus my thoughts are that this would be too heavy once the tetras grow larger.

1 Sponge Filter, 1 Airstone, 8 Hornworts, quite a bit of moss. 2 x 20% WC weekly. Lights On 10 hrs per day so that hornwort will produce oxygen.

Planted? what plants? what size hanging filter?

I have about 30 in a 1.5 ft, densely planted (about 30% volume are plants). 2 x 500l flo-rate hanging filters, 1 internal box filter, 1 sponge filter. Weekly 25% WC.

A bit kiasu on filtration but then again, you can never over-filter.

9 tetras in a 1ft... almost hit capacity already.... unless you have fantastic filtration and really good water mgmt, dun think you should get more. You can try adding on slowly.

If you feel too empty, why not add some RCS. They dun contribute so much to bioload. Think you can still accomodate abt 10 RCS comfortably.
