MP size for Aro
Like to check,
for a 15~16' aro, what size of cut MP do you feed? From my first till my current aro, all don't like to take big piece of MP. Is it because they are use to smaller pieces of MP since small? I tried to feed with bigger pieces of MP but sure after few chew, split out. But I got smaller tankmate and so I need to feed smaller pieces of MP but I realize that, my aro will normally stop eating after 6~7 pieces of small cut MP. So I assume that its a small eater but I hardly can pump her up cos of her small appetite. Any ways to make my aro take bigger pieces of MP. My friend did ask me izzit I wash the MP too clean that its tasteless... but even if I dun wash the MP, it's still the same. even now, my 8" IT recently also just take few pieces of small cut MP. Water condition is ok, rest of the other tankmates all still eating great esp TFB.... |

IMO, it very much depends on the individual aro. i've seen big aros that refuse big size mp and only eat small cut mp. if ur aro is lidat, just cut ur mp to smaller size lor. got eat better then no eat rite?

From experience it also depends on the type of MP you feed. My aros love the glass prawns and they will swallow it whole even if cut in bigger piece. But when it comes to grey prawns or those of more reddish type, they will still chew despite the MP being cut into smaller pieces. How fresh the prawns will also contribute to the appetite of the aros.

i think depends on the aro.. my aro now currently around 12"-13" can eat whole 2"-2.5" mp with shell on but without head.. last time my aro 14"-15" if mp is with shell and not cut to small size will not eat..

I second to it. My previous Aro has no problem eating big piece of mp at 12", however, my current Aro at 13-14", it only accept small cut mp, otherwise, it will take longer time or don't eat. sometime, I thought it is water problem, after changing to smaller piece, now it ate alot.
