Default Advise on light for planted tank

Hi guys I have a 4feet tank. 2 feet deep.

Currently using Aquazonic 4*54W T5HO with CO2 and Excel Flourish.

Trying to grow high light carpeting plants like Glosso and HC but not succeeding as growth tends to be slow and horizontal rather than vertical.

Have been told that the MHX 3W LED might be a good choice to replace the current lighting but not too sure about LED. Always thought T5HO would give more light.

Also hear that reflector for T5HO make a lot of difference. Any bros here can advice me if I shld do LED or another better T5HO with better reflector. Pls recommend the brand also.

Tks

in my limited experience, LED still have quite a way to go before catching up with traditional light. So far my traditional t5 are doing well for my plants, but mine is mainly crypts only.

You can try with 6 t5ho lamps.

There are good 5W LED...but this will not be cost effective, as the total wattage will be in the range of 100-200W also.

Marine light colour is diff from plant. maybe at 10kk and 20kk, LED light spectrum is good.

For plant, 6500k spectrum is more preferred.

my own experience for plant is still MH light for depth of 2ft or more. Esp if you are looking at glosso at gravel level.
