the size of the co2 cylinder only affect the duration your co2 will last, before you need to top up.

For example, just as an example you are having 2 bubbles per second, a 2 litre co2 cylinder will last you for 3 months while a 5 litre co2 cylinder will last you for 7 months, before you need to bring your co2 tank to top up. (the bubble count and duration is just for illustration purpose only)

the amount of co2 you inject into your 3 feet tank will need to be determined by various factors like the quantity and types of plants you have, amount of lighting etc.

maybe you could post your setup in the planted tank thread and ask for advice. many experienced bros would be able to guide you along.

Bro, what ymmij bro say is right.. Any size of cylinder fit all tanks. Depend on how many litres you need/want. The bigger the cylinder the longer you get to top up.

And for too much co2 in the tank may cause algaes grow don think will have high percentage. Too much co2 will only give your fishes trouble. For algaes grow is most likely cause by the light and less co2.

If you are not sure how many bps of co2 you need in the tank you can try to increase 1 bubble at a time until you see your fishes gaping for air then you minus 1 bubble. Then that will be the max for your co2 in the tank.
