Nice setup. You Are not planning to tie any moss to your wood?
Do use the aircon tubing and if your tank glass is thick you will save $ on your electricity bill.
My tubing foam is >1cm thick, glass 8mm and my chiller don't kick in often.

still soaking the driftwood at the moment. Will tie it with either willow or xmas moss eventually. that corner where my tank is, is kinda warm with 30deg. My tank is 12mm thickness but between kick in/out is still around 45mins, not very ideal me think...

Actually tubing foam is not really required lah. The plastic hose is a pretty bad conductor of heat. Feel the hose and see. It doesn't really feel cold plus it doesn't even get cold enough for condensation. I have found one problem with aircon tubing, if your hose is bent you will not notice it because you won't be able to see it.

Hi Cheetf, thats some useful and alternate views coming from you. The hose indeed does not feel cold to touch and no condensation. Instead of tubing foam, would targetting the tank instead be better, as in cover the tank top which may enclose and keep the cold better? Probably need to trial and error and monitor the difference...
