Default Urgentttt (enquiry on arowana tagging)

Hi guys
I am going to get a malaysia golden blue base f1. But the guy who I am buying from is saying that f1 doesn't have birth certificates because the breed is government controlled so they can't inject the chip. Is this true? Pls need urgent help regarding this. Tq

BTW if it's government controlled even more they should be tagging the fish to track the population.

By right f1 are not allowed to be sold in malaysia. Only f2, f3, f4 and beyond. However, do check if your seller is registered under cites. If they are not registered under CITES, they will not have chips to be injected into the arowanas. Hopes this helps.

For asian arowana, only captive bred of 2nd filial (F2) generation and beyond can be sold and they must be tagged before putting on sale.

whoever trying to sell you the arowana is not being honest with you.

There's lots of his arowana videos on YouTube. What he said was f2 of the same size (3-4inches) can be injected but not f1. The reason was they're government controlled and f1 will jump alot and become unstable. This is the part that make me doubt and worry much
