That will be good. meanwhile can always give it a try.
i got mine 2 yrs ago when they were ~2.5".
how big is your breeding tank? water parameters and any tank mate? thanks

It should be ready now, i comm them with my 20" aro and big earth eaters i a 6 footer. But a 4 footer should be sufficient to me. my ph is 7 to 7.5 which i don't purposely alter them.

u already reach stage 3 !
so dun give up, I believe you will sure have 90% survival
if u try a few more times !
I think it should be:

stage 1 find a pair - hard
stage 2 to succeed in spawning - quite hard
stage 3 able to see fries - very hard
stage 4 raise the fries F1 - hardest
stage 5 breed the fries F1 - unimaginable..

Dun give up, they should give you good results again as long as the parents are around.

I totally agree that ID them is difficult, but there are tell-tales sign which is the marking on the tail portion.

this is something interesting.
In fact, i did mention something like this back in 2007.
http://www.arofanatics.com/forums/sh...06&postcount=3

but it has been outdated somehow. However, if we believed what the TW said then, there is an 3 page article by them in Aquazoo News, Nov 2004.
