Good. You do your homework. There are ppl out there who dun, thinking it is worth it to rent to be Uber cabby.
Anyway if u do own a veh, it is good to form of supplement to lighten ur monthly payments. If u are a low user, all the more dun buy. Ultimately it is not worth to own a car in Singapore. I had been using my company vehicle, coming to 10yrs, i see how much money is put into the maintenance, etc. Was told to get my own veh, but decline it as feel not worth it. Maybe after next year, when the Coe expires, will be taking public transport liao. |

I just use GRAB to 'call' a regular taxi. Save the cost of calling and its so convenient.

Good on you!
Saved quite a lot. Assuming one month installment, petrol, maintenance, insurance etc about $1,000. One year save $12,000. 10 years $120,000. My cousin drives a bus for a transport company. His boss allows him to drive the bus back after work. Weekends some times he used the bus to drive family or relatives around. Sent from my 2014817 using Tapatalk |

For nasty passengers, Grab/Uber faced it as much as taxi but taxi drivers are kind of protected by their companies while Grab/Uber are on their own. Quote:
I am not a heavy user, but I do use it for my sideline too, which generates some income. So if I do contemplate driving Uber/Grab, it is more like, helping to subsidize some running cost, than to get a car for the purpose of revenue (really slave to a car in that case). Additional income to subsidize ownership is a bonus, but shd not be part of the equation of getting a car. |

If your monthly 'income' is $6k. Minus 20% uber commission - $1200. Minus $60 daily car rental - $1800. Minus $30 petrol x 30 days - $900 Minus season parking and misc - $200 Left about $2k.... Overhead very high. |
