I see some website rating asics, brooks, saucony, NB as the brands with some particular models that top the list. Will go ask the retailers also.

Currently, my right knee starts to hurt when I reach 7 km. Got to stop a while and press the nerve there then continue on. Thinking of putting on a knee support, but don't know if that will help.

Perhaps should also look for shoes which can absorb impact during running.
Bro, what is your regular mileage/distance covered?

If No flat Feet Or Valgus, Can Go for zero drop. If Your Feet Can Tahan. Try NEwton. THe Heels Are Lower Than The Mid Foot
But Progress Slowly Otherwise Will Injure.

Check out Amazon pricing

May be cheaper than Queensway for some models, make sure buy current year model or last year shoe : rubber of old models cannot make it.

The rule of thumb of changing shoe is approx 400km. Like what some forumers have said - have a few running shoes to rotate. Two or three pairs will suffice. It is not unusual to see some runners are shoe "hoarders", they have dozens! (I am not one of them).

If you are on the heavier side, you may require more cushioning. Look for those brands recently that announced new mid-sole materials that are more efficient and last longer. Asics have FlyteFoam, Saucony have EverRun, Adidas have Boost, Brooks have BioMoGo etc etc.

Invest in better midsole material to safeguard your legs from the constant pounding on road and concrete.

To avoid too much pounding on concrete, head to the trail once a week and run on softer ground. Over time, your ankle gets stronger, and so will your core muscles. And you will enjoy nature at the same time.

Don't get caught up with running fast or shoes that claim you can run faster if you wear them. Some half-truth but for weekend warriors, who cares?
mostly marketing gimmicks

Yup, i take it easy. I dun run fast and when I dun feel like going for long distance run, I do interval training instead to build up core muscles. Frankly, i enjoy interval training more than going for long runs as I feel can be bore. Hence I dun see myself going for full marathon, as that will mean I got to spend at least 4 hrs pounding the road

Trail running may be something i may try next year. If fit enough, may just participate in the green race or north face run. As said, enjoy nature as running mah...

Last Sat. I ran the MSIG 21k trail race using a friend's bib (she was injured). This is my first race for this year, and I never paid for it

I have not done a Standchart marathon before, the last 42km I did was Mobile Marathon, in the early 90s LOL and that was my fastest recorded FM, 3:45

The only ultra I did was last year, in Macritchie, the HOKA MR25 Ultra, did 54km for 7hr.

Don't race that frequently but kept on training for maintenance.
