"aimed at stirring hate and anger, not only to be directed at me, which I can understand politically, but also at my residents and volunteers
Personally feel that this statement was unnecessary by the Minister. By doing so, isn't it true that he is "trying" to "influence" to think that way? |

Agree, the minister over-reacted to a trivial matters. Should reply more professionally. We all know no intention of stirring hatred at all, just brought up the unfairness by the opp party.

But every other buses are also in e vehicular queues, be there any ministers or not. It's nothing unusual, and that's just so convenient excuse to give, but I don't see that as a problem. Both check points are faced with high bus volumes on weekends, 1 bus lesser doesn't make a difference.

Minister Tan took the bus back to CC/RC together with his residents after clearance?
Or his car waiting for him after clearance? |

I think I read somewhere.. Minister Tan took his own car in.
And chose to take the bus out, which gave rise to the issue.... U see... the other 2 gentlemen were wif the bus throughout. Not happen to be in Malaysia and decide to take the bus out. And when they did take the bus out, the joined the public Q. Basically it's like a case of what seems to be Elitism at work.... GRL (1 bus load) who are fit and healthy breezing through while the rest (inc old and weak) who need to Q. Frankly, it's damn stupid the customs did wad they did. They would have scored brownie points if they had kept the counter open and gave priority to the senior citizens and/or those with very young kids and/or those who have difficulty walkin etc. The customs have been known to do that, subject to crowd and availability of custom officers (which in this case, since they CAN and DID open an extra counter for like 30 pax, they COULD have done the same for those in need). |

Custom did the 'right thing' by not asking those others to go thru the express lane, thus this issue came to light
(not that we don't know such 'VIP' exist for the longest time, and it's not just for ministers but... oh well) |
