So, how? Return to lfs for refund or put in marine tank? Was it in marine tank at lfs or it has been adapted to freswater?

If the water from the bag is saltwater or brackish, you should have noticed when releasing the fish into your freshwater tank

So if you didn't notice anything when you mixed the water, it should be freshwater. So, it should be alright?
