Francesco Totti issues Mohamed Salah warning
Francesco Totti believes Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah can still improve despite already being 'one of the best players in the world'. The Egypt international has scored 30 goals in a remarkable debut season, becoming only the 13th player in 126 years to reach that tally in a single campaign for the Reds. But Totti, a former teammate of Salah at AS Roma, senses the 25-year-old – who was also pivotal in his country’s qualification for the World Cup this summer – can move up yet another gear. “The level he is playing at, at the moment, he is one of the best players in the world – and I think he can and will get even better,” said the Italian legend. “I know him well. He is a good friend and wants to keep improving, to keep getting better as a player. “He does all the right things, he trains hard, he works hard, he listens to the coaches – that’s why, as good as he is playing at the moment, I think maybe there is even one more level in him.” |

Statement from Liverpool FC
Liverpool Football Club has given its response following the FA’s decision today regarding the allegation made against Roberto Firmino during the FA Cup tie at Anfield, played on Friday January 5, 2018. “We thank Roberto for the manner in which he has conducted himself during this difficult process, acknowledging that being subjected to such a serious allegation for this length of time has been hurtful to him and his family. “Both the club and player were in full agreement from the beginning that if an investigation was required it should be a thorough and robust one. “Roberto has co-operated fully with the process and shown a willingness to engage and assist throughout, with the only objective being to discover the truth of what happened. “We are satisfied that the outcome of the process has exonerated the player of using any racist or discriminatory language.” |

Liverpool U19s face English and Spanish tests if they want to reach final of UEFA Youth League
Liverpool U19s will have to beat English and Spanish opposition if they are to continue their journey in the UEFA Youth league all the way to the final. Steven Gerrard's side beat Manchester United 2-0 at Prenton Park yesterday in their last 16 tie courtesy of goals in either half from Ben Woodburn and Rafa Camacho. That sets up a quarter final against Manchester City with the random draw making City the home team for a game which will be played on March 13 or 14. If Liverpool could get past Man City they would face either Barcelona or Atletico Madrid on the neutral venue of Nyon in Switzerland on April 20 for the semi-final. The final follows three days later. Getting past City of course will be no easy task, especially on their own turf. They secured a last eight spot by beating Inter Milan on penalties after a game which ended 1-1 on Tuesday. At U18 level the sides played a good game at Kirkby in late November. Liverpool led 1-0 through Liam Millar but a strong second half performance from City saw them equalise through Keke Simmonds. The UEFA Youth League was created in 2013/14 when Liverpool made it as far as the last 16. The inaugural winners were Barcelona followed by two years of Chelsea victories, with Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke the top scorer in 2014/15 with 12 goals. Last year Red Bull Salzburg provided a shock by lifting the trophy after beating Benfica in the final. Wednesday's win broke a run of four successive defeats for Liverpool U18s and three for the U23s so Gerrard was understandably keen just to enjoy the win rather than look too far forward to the next round. He said: “Let's enjoy this first. In terms of U18s and U23s it's been a tough few weeks, results haven't gone our way. It's important we enjoy this win first. “There'll be plenty of time to look at the Manchester City game, we will have a plan and prepare and give the lads the information they need. But the lads need to enjoy this one first and enjoy that taste of winning again. It's been a while." Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has suffered ligament damage
Liverpool winger Harry Wilson has suffered ligament damage in his shoulder.
The 20-year-old Wales international, who is on loan at Championship strugglers Hull City, was taken off after landing awkwardly in last Friday's FA Cup tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Wilson sat out Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough and will also miss Friday night's clash with Sheffield United amid fears that he could be sidelined for up to a month. It's a painful setback for Wilson, who made his Hull debut against Preston before scoring in a 2-0 win at Nottingham Forest. Jurgen Klopp sanctioned a loan move for Wilson on deadline day after the youngster penned a new long-term contract. Wilson has been a prolific goal scorer for Liverpool Under-23s but hasn’t featured for the senior side since being handed his debut in an FA Cup tie against Plymouth a year ago. He has previously had a loan spell at Crewe. |

Bayern Munich 'join the race' for Liverpool's Mohamed Salah alongside Real Madrid
It seems that Liverpool fans are going to have to get used to rumours surrounding Mohamed Salah's future... The winger only made the move to Anfield last summer, but his incredible performances in a Red shirt have not only blown away many Premier League fans and pundits, they have also reportedly attracted the interest of some of Europe's biggest clubs. Go figure. Over the last few weeks, Real Madrid have been the side most consistently linked with a swoop for the 25-year-old as they will be looking to recover from what looks at this moment in time to be a seriously disappointing campaign. However, according to reports in Spain, there's a new club in the mix now. El Gol Digital are claiming that Bayern Munich have now joined the hunt for Salah as they look to replace Arjen Robben, who's out of contract in June, which could potentially start a bidding war. The publication claims that Madrid may have to decide quickly whether they want to sign the Liverpool man or Chelsea's Eden Hazard, which could lead to Los Blancos making their move for the Egytian international before the end of the season. We're sure this isn't the last Salah rumour we're going to hear before the end of the summer. |

Miki Remembers Klopp
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has spoken of his delight at joining Arsenal - because it reminds him of playing under Jurgen Klopp! The Armenian was used as a makeweight by Manchester United as they prised Alexis Sanchez from the Gunners, but the attacking football takes the midfielder back to the good old days. Speaking to ESPN, he said: In the last year I played in Dortmund with [Jurgen] Klopp, Dortmund was playing very good football and I think it seems to be a bit similar comparing Arsenal to Dortmund.I’m very happy to be here....Every offensive player wants to play offensive football. For me as well, I always love to play offensive football, it’s not easy to defend all the time. |

(Image) LFC’s new violet kit has giant emblem on the belly
This is the kit Liverpool will wear as our away strip in 2018/19, according to Footy Headlines, who in fairness, always get it right. It’s violet and features part of the club crest on the stomach underneath the sponsor. A kit with You’ll Never Walk Alone plastered across the front is pretty cool, in our opinion! Fans will naturally be annoyed with the colour, but it’s becoming something of a trademark for New Balance to make garish second and third kits. In 2016/17 we had the infamous toxic thunder strip, and this term it’s the crazy fluorescent orange which has seen us score bags and bags of goals every time we wear it! So bring on the violet, we say! |
