Digging this thread up... cuz I am decommissioning and taking apart my tank after selling my property.
Well all good things must come to an end. I had fun wif the construction and making of this big mama. I guess its good timing as well. Heres some after thoughts based on hindsight Things I will have done differently if I had the chance to do it again 1. I will shift the filters to the side, as in an individual sump filter placed to the side of the main tank wif the main pump stationed there and connect to the main tank via piping. Mainly cause its facilitate easier maintenance, 2nd cause of point 2 below and 3rd point for easier adding and removing of other filters (add-on). 2. The main tank will sit on a low stainless steel or chengai wood stand... mainly to keep the base clean and allow air to flow underneath. 3. I will tile up the whole balcony, again for better cleaniness and easier cleaning. Things I have got it right 1. The Abyzz pump is awesome (still running as of now) every cent well spent. Silent, low consumption and reliable. 2. Quality of tank. 3. Bacteria house filters. Will i ever do such a big tank project again? Prob not, I think internal house placed tank size like 5ft, 6ft, 7ft are the sweet spot. Its definitely easier to maintain (water quality) than a semi outdoor big tank. Hope u guys/gal learned something as much as I did on this journey. Till next time... cheers |

Actually its might be cost effective (dismember the tank + transport + assemble the tank) compared to making new one. Mainly cause I wan to take a break from fish keeping after almost 2 decade of fish hobby and the other reason cause I have sold all my brooder stocks. I can give the bare tank and sump tank (exclude media and pump) to anyone who is interested in AF. Provided the bro cover all dissembling + transport + assembling cost i.e. zero cost on my part Although I have actually agreed on paper with the new owner I will leave the tank to them. |
