how about overkill?? any bros did that?? using 1 2X 55 watt ballast on just 1 55 w tube?? this was discussed some time back. but ever since no news. any news on the overkilling??

? huh what overkill ? At most you waste 1 set of extra 55 watt pin connection to the eballast, if you are only planning to use 1 bulb. It will still work.

To furthur add, it will overdrive the eballast by pulling out more juice then it can support. This in the end cause the eballast to overheat = chance of fire or short circuiting.... You can use , yes, but you take a major risk. The rating system is there ,tested and verified for your safety.

Overdriving is not uncommon. Google ODNO and you will find all the info you need.

u can overdrive by using a bigger watt ballast on a smaller watt light...
eg.. 55 watt eballast on a 36 pl light... if u compare with a 36 w ballast driving 36 watt pl light u wil notice the 1 wif 55watt e ballast to be brighter... but the life span will b shorter... |
