Hi fong , they can survive quite well. Down in our side, we usually kept them in big tanks like minimum 3ft half for a small ones if you don't have a CHILLER. I also feed them with shrimps and bloodworm, they seems to like it and grow pretty well.

Don't think is possible, it's illegal in Singapore I believe.

Will it knock its pointed stout/nose if it bangs on the side of the tank due to sudden scare/lighting/movement/shadow? The long nose looks beautiful but fragile.

There was this indo breeder that offered me a platinum paddle fish . He said he tried keeping them but they hardly exceed 12 inches before they eventually die. I some how wander how aquarium can keep them until 2 feet ... Maybe they are plankton feeders and they to feast on planktonic organism
