Default Brackish Moray eel

Hi all, just sharing some "freshwater" morays i got from Seaview. Seems like they always have a steady supply. did a lot of research that says they are actually brackish and not freshwater. So i started cycling a brackish tank.

After cycling a brackish tank for 6 months and always wondering why it keeps showing presence of ammonia etc, i FINALLY read online that depending on salinity, brackish water can skew the readings slightly. A very faint green in brackish = totally yellow in freshwater = all good! So i took the plunge, went to seaview and grabbed 3 of these guys

So I put all 3 into a big plastic bag, prepared a bottle of brackish water to acclimatize them. i used airline tubing tied into a tight knot to slowly drip the brackish water into the bag. It took about 1 day to finish dripping into the bag before I finally put them in.

It has been 1 month since they settled in. So far, so good. I feed them weekly with pellets (only 1 of them likes pellets) and mixed seafood like clams, MP etc. Sorry for the bad pics, i don't know much about photography plus they keep squirming when i try to take photos

At night

The big grey one is very curious and active, the other 2 smaller darker ones are very chill

Thanks! Currently not covered. Instead I just filled up the tank to 3/4. Still looking around for a nice and affordable acrylic cover...

Wow very very interesting. What pellets do you feed and must they be on a 'special' diet? Diff from normal freshwater fish?

Thanks in advance!

These guys are supposed to be very difficult to feed since they get easily stressed. Maybe i got lucky? I feed them Hikari carnivore pellets. Only 1 of them likes it, though. The rest will just bite them ignore... Otherwise the rest eat same thing as all other fish. I buy those small packet mixed seafood (has prawn, clams, sotong) from NTUC/Cold Storage for $3 plus and just chop it up and feed slowly. They only eat once a week, each eel gets maybe 3-4 pieces of food. So far its been 1 month, still got half left

Not really, they are different families. Swamp eels are supposed to be freshwater and a lot more hardy, can buy cheap at Sheng Siong for pet instead of makan

Hey bros, I'm keen to get another eel, gymnothorax polyurandon. Any sightings recently? I know last month I saw at C328 but no more already. Thanks in advance! It looks like this:
