If it hasn't been done already, try posting on the respective agency Facebook pages on the concerns.

I rather be irresponsible and selfish road user than give a care about such death seeking e-scooterist.

We all know how dangerous the expressway road shoulders are and shouldn't stop there unless absolutely necessary. Who knows i may get myself killed because of someone seeking death.

He wanna die, he can die. I don't want to take his place. I'm very selfish.

(of cos not forgetting such morons may turn around and shout at you "MIND YOUR F**KING BUSINESS")

I really don't know how to deal with a escooter if I encounter one while I am driving on the same road.

But my thought was, if I am driving alone, and both myself and escooter stopped at the junction, I will offer him a ride in my car. This will eliminate the risk straight away.

But if its a long road and this guy going above 30km/h or more, I will drive beside him, roll down the passenger window and ask him to slow down and get off the road.

If he doesn't listen, it is his problem if he want to risk his life but at least I know I did my part to advise him not to.

This case will never happen.

Coz wad happens is, YOU stop. escooter just carries on like his grandfather road.....

If escooter knows to stop, he/she will not be doing the risky act already

Default 3 retailers charged for selling, supplying non-compliant e-bikes

SINGAPORE: Three retailers have been charged under the Road Traffic Act, for selling and supplying non-compliant power-assisted bicycles (PABs) that had been modified illegally.

In a news release on Friday (Oct 7), the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said these bicycles were illegally modified with throttles which enabled them to reach speeds exceeding 35kmh without the rider pedalling.

Under current PAB regulations, LTA said the electric motor of PABs is only allowed to kick in and provide assistance when the rider is pedalling. The motor assistance must cut off when the rider stops pedalling, or when the PAB reaches a speed of 25kmh, added LTA.

LTA also said that since February this year, PABs need to comply with requirements that are aligned with European Standard EN15194 and weigh no more than 20kg, in order to be approved.

Following the charges mentioned in court, all three cases have been adjourned for further mention on Nov 10.

Under the Road Traffic Act, for selling a non-compliant PAB, or illegally modifying it for use, the offender could be charged in court and may be fined up to S$2,000 or jailed up to three months upon conviction for the first offence. For subsequent offences, the offender may be fined up to S$5,000 or jailed up to six months upon conviction.
