Klopp's programme notes

Klopp of course has had to speak about Saturday in his column in teh programme. Here’s his thoughts:

“I cannot ignore what happened in Manchester at the weekend, but it is vital that no-one is burdened with it when we start tonight.

“There were some pretty painful lessons from the level of performance but this group of players has shown repeatedly they are professionals who take the information, learn from it and improve.

“It is okay to be hurt by a result like Saturday but it is not okay to be wounded - it cannot impede our progress.”

All over at Prenton Park and it's a big win for #LFC U19s in their #UYL opener.

Not a great omen

OptaJoe

@OptaJoe
1 - Liverpool have only won one of their eight Champions League home games against Spanish opposition (D3 L4). Siesta.

Ben Yedder taps home. All stems from Can bizarrely not going for the challenge. Lovren terrible attempt to clear.

What was Lovren doing?

That is absolutely dreadful from Dejan Lovren.

In Sevilla’s half of the pitch Liverpool have been very good so far. Their passing is crisp and on point, they are going forward at every opportunity and whenever Salah or Mane get the ball you get the feeling the Spaniards could be in trouble.

But at the other end the Reds still look so fragile.

The Kop in fine voice as the Reds look to get back on level terms.
