To be fair, this ng just took over fr Alan Chan and the retrenchment was decided last year. He just brought forward the plan.
Having said so, am surprised that the mgmt did not offer to take a pay cut first or as part of this exercise. This ng's career path was already casted in stone for him even before his enlistment. Do not know why he is still being taken vmcare of despite many ppl doubted his capability and leadership in the commercial world. Anyway , after this exercise, i the sgort term things will be better due to cost reduction measures and If SPH performs well down the road, it is due to the existing team of people and not because of his leadership. I will not give him any credit at all. |

Those retrenched will not be able to get back the paycheck they used to have for next job that they will take up.

Also CATS losing out to many free online ads. Think nowadys many property agents cut down their CATS ads due to online ads.
