Pls bear with me for few more questions... 1.how to select correct led light for a tank size of 24x24x28cm? 2.how we know the brightness of the led, base on wattage? numbers of led? 10k or 12k? notice most of the led light selling in the market does not really specify the brightness. |

1. For your tank size and if you are only going to grow moss, I recommend the Ecoxotic LED Aluminium Arm. I will add an extra 9w of LED for a total of 18w. http://theaquaticgazette.com/2011/07...inium-led-arm/ 2. Brightness and effectiveness of LEDs is very much currently dependent on how trustworthy the company is. Dymax is known to sell lousy LEDs that lose its intensity quicker than PL lights. Ecoxotic LEDs are fine, they will be have the same intensity for 50,000 hours. Colour temperature can usually be found on the box. If they don't specify, I personally will not purchase the product. In a nutshell, for nano LED lights, I will only get from reputable brands until the market matures. |

If you are keeping plants like anubias nana, Java ferns and mosses, then the LED light should be fine.

Even with LED lights, JFs and ANs and even mosses can have algae issues. Had GSA on my Nanas Petite and Fuzz Algae on my JFs and BBA on my mosses. My lighting duration then was chaotic.

What is the PH of your tap water? And what fauna do you intend to keep?
