The only thing i know is microdrive is slower. But how slow? Very noticeable? Is it advisable for me to buy a 1gb microsdrive solely for photography use? PLs pls,if u know, pls help to shed some lights on this issue.

Can't really answer but I can link up a reputable digicam site for reference.

Hope it helps.

CF cards are solid state storage devices. Microdrives are miniture hard disks, with moving parts. As such, CF cards are usually faster than micro drives, which is good when your digital SLR can take advantage of the high transfer speed.

This is a good site to find out more. It also tells you which CF card is the fastest for your camera.

Have fun!

Cheers,

Microdrive used to be the most popular choice as last time solid state memory is very very expensive. However Microdrive is slower and power consumption is much higher..
