Thanks everyone for your feedback. So far, after i have been draining a pail of water everyday, and replenishing with the aged water, the aro seems to be very happy.. In fact, his wounds have almost completely healed back without 3 - 4 days. This morning, he is "dancing" in the tank. However, my ammonia level in the tank is still quite high. Presently, i have 1 FF, 3 plecos and 1 red polo in the tank. The FF shits a lot which could have contributed to the high ammonia in the tank.. But at the same time, he's the most hardworking as compared to the 3 plecos who are always seen lazing at one corner.. Of course, you never know they could have been working very hard in the tank at night since they are nocturnal species. So, in conclusion, i dont know how to bring down the ammonia level...

one gd way to bring dwn and control ur ammonia level will be to build up ur biological system in ur tank.. try to add in more medias into ur filtration so as to build up ur BB in ur tank, and also do nt over feed... once ur tank is matured and the BB build up, it shldn;'t be a problem controlling ur ammonia level

You should not have any ammonia in your tank at all if your filtration is adequate, unless it is a new tank set up.
Good advice given above. Give more details of your setup & when established so that members can help.

True, I experienced this before it should not be often as otherwise there is something really wrong that stresses the aros.
