My Julidochromis Regani laying eggs. Need some advise.
hi,
My Regani started laying eggs on the inside roof of the cave. Need some advise, as I'm also keeing 3 other small fronts and a small glass knife ifish inside the same tank, do I need to remove this breeding pair and their eggs to another tank? |

Congrats on the spawn, try not to move the pair, as it might break the bond. The fry should be able to survive, fronts are not very good at catching fry. So I recommend that you just leave them as they are =)

Thanks bro for your advise. I was just worried that the frys might not survived in the tank with other fishes around. I will just leave it as it is and see how it goes when the egg hatches

if you can put plants or plastic plants they do make good hiding grounds as well.

yes, I think that's a good way to deter other big fishes towards the cave. I will alos try to find a bigger cave for these fry to hide in as the current one is a little small.
Thanks bro |

They may not survive the first round but subsequent batches may do better. Consider removing the tankmates (fronts) if you truly want to breed them.

Thanks for the advise bro, actually wanted to remove the fronts but its kinda too late now I guess and too troublesome. I will juz leave it as it is at the moment.
I too got a feeling that the first round could not survive, the eggs on the ceiling seems to be gone now and left a little, but not seen any frys swimming, so possible being eaten liaow I guess. But anyway hope for the best as I have created alot of hiding place. |
