Its about 2-3 inch only. When i first see it, look much like a endi, but as it grows bigger, the dark strips starts to fade to greenish.

Thanks a lot.
This pic the head shape looks like the dabola I have...=)

Have you found out why it died? For it to grow to 24inch or more in 3yrs is a feat. You must have feed it with lots of food every day. Disect it to see. Maybe it has eggs that turn bad in its body or fatty internal organs that kills it.
No. We suspect it's internal problem. Nothing to do with fat or eggs though. I feed my tank every 2-4 days.

Real massive, thicker than a soda can. My favorite bichir, also the biggest bichir that I've ever grown out. Got her back in 09 @ about 7"-9",RIP Godzilla!
Sorry for your lost bro. It's sad to see the passing of a true monster.

Like washy said, looks like Lapen. AH brought some in sometime back. I'm not sure he got his but in terms of body shape and patterning, it looks very similar. But the colour of his batch was browner, maybe due to substrate, hard to tell with bichirs until they settle down.

Thank bro, but imo definitely not as solid as yrs and other bros here. I'm definitely not worthy of such title here as I'm just a big fan of PBB since years back when I saw them in my jap mag
Thanks again for liking my red. I don't tan it, just LED lighting sets above the tank. I would prefer to let it colour up naturally.

It is suppose to be a captive breed dabola, from Indonesian farm, but is slightly different from aquahobby batch of lapen. I was offered 2 sb dabola from my contact too, but someone get to it before me. I have seen those at tfi, if compared to aquahobby batch, they are way far off in terms of quality.
