Ungravel filter plate will be good for tying moss wall. Another choice is stainless steel mesh. I don't really like to use plastic mesh, because I feel that they are too soft, moss tend to drop out when you accidentally bend it when you try to place it into the tank.

ungravel failter plate not easy to tie, but how to stick against the wall? stainless steel mesh, kinda very sharp and not flexable. plastic mesh, i haven tie with it before, but looking at it i think its easier. but to ur experiences plastic mesh not good?

I'm currently using green plastic mesh which i bought from Y618. It works for me.
I find that plastic mesh is easier to attach to the wall because you can fix the suckers on easily.
Suckers are available from most lfs at about 50cents each.

http://www.aquamoss.net/How%20to%20c...oss%20wall.htm has a step to step guide of making a moss wall.

For me i'm using spiky moss and the moss wall is growing out quite well. I started my moss wall about 1 month ago.

Do take out the moss wall and wave it a little in the water occassionally to remove debris accumulated on the moss wall.

I used to do moss wall using acrylic sheet as the back and plstic mesh as the front cover.

I used acrylic sheet because they stick to the tank wall, so critters won't get trapped. BTW, acrylic sheet can just get the thinnest type, maybe just 1mm. It's cheaper and easier to cut into shape too.
